Let's explore Schoolhouse Lake in Waterford today. Schoolhouse is a private all sports lake that is only about in size. Schoolhouse Lake connects to 3 other lakes. Wormer, Mohawk (which are smaller lakes) and Loon Lake. To get to these other lakes you have to have a boat with low sides. Low sided speed boats are the best. Of course kayaks, canoes, and rowboats can get through the culverts that go under the road.

Schoolhouse Lake in Oakland County is what I would call a subdivision lake. You won't find those old cottages on the lake. You will find that most of the homes are brick ranches, colonials, and split levels. Most of the homes range from 1500 to 2500 square feet. Though I know of one large house on the lake at 5192 square feet. But most of the lakefront homes are average size.
Most of the lakefront homes have lake frontage of 70 to 135'. Many of them are very close to 100' of lake frontage. The children on the lake go to Waterford schools. All the homes are on city water and sewer. The roads around the lake are paved.
