Big Lake Springfield Twp. Michigan

Big Lake in Springfield Township is near Clarkston.  We would call Big Lake more of a remote lake.  It’s off the beaten path so it’s a quiet lake.  Most of the roads around the lake are gravel.  Hi this is The Bertera-Ravary Real Estate Team Ravary Metro Detroit’s top lake realtors. 

Big Lake is a decent size lake at 200 acres.  It is the head waters of the Huron River and is spring fed.  It’s not a deep lake with the deepest spot being 14 ‘ deep.  There is a DNR lake access site on the lake.  Some of Big Lake is mucky.  Some Lake residents go out to the middle to swim.  One of the local ski show teams practices on the lake a couple of nights a week.  The children that live on the lake go to Clarkston schools.

Let’s talk about Big Lake Real estate in Oakland County.  Like so many lakes in Oakland County you will find a mixed bag of homes.  You will find little ranches from the 1940’s on.  There are some nice homes that sit up on the hillside across the road on one side of the lake.  On the south side there have been some newer brick colonial homes that range over 2500 -4200+ square foot.  So if you are looking for a uniform subdivision style lake this won’t be for you.  You will a nice big home next to a small one.  Which is normal for most sE Michigan Lakes.  It doesn’t hurt the value of the big home at all.
