Hello this is Joe your local Lakes area specialist. Pontiac Lake I believe is a diamond in the rough. It is a lake that has not gotten into a major building boom. There are still many smaller cottages on the lake. Some lake home buyers do not like Pontiac Lake because of the un- uniform and smaller houses. There is no association to stop homeowners from storing boats, and snowmobiles out front.
It is one of the larger public all sports lakes at 612 acres. It is a relatively shallow lake with the deepest spot being 34 foot. 2 sides of the lake are owned by the state, and Pontiac State park is on the lake. There are several marinas on the lake, but none sell gas.
