M-24 and Clarkston Rd run right along the side of the lake. Only 1/4 of the lake has homes on it.

Buckhorn waterfront homes were built during the years of 1940 to 1990. The lake front homes range in square footage from 1000 square feet to 2400 square feet.

The Buckhorn waterfront home styles from ranchs, colonial, and split level homes. Most of the homes have 2 car garages though some have no garages, and 1 car garages.

Orion Cove Apartments are located on the north side of the lake. Lapeer Rd and Clarkston Rd run directly along the lake so there are no homes on those side. Homes to sit are only on a quarter of the lake. There are about 25 houses on the lake, predominantly split level with a few ranches and colonials.
