Forest Lake:Forest Lake waterfront homes, the lake homes were built from 1949 to the late 1980's. The lakefront homes range from 2300 square feet to over 7000 square feet. Many of them are over 3500 square feet. Most of them are what one would call luxury lakefront estate homes with the finest amenities and features.

Island Lake: Island Lake in Bloomfield Township Michigan is what I would call an upper end prestigous lake. Children that live on Island Lake attend Bloomfield Hills Schools. You won't find those old 1920's 800 square foot wood ranches on Island Lake in Oakland County. You most likely are not going to find a lakefront home less than $500,000 on this Oakland County lake. Most of the Island Lakefront homes were built in the 1950's and 1960's. There are some waterfront homes that were built later, some as late as 2000. Most of the homes are ranches, colonials, cape cods, and contemporary home. They range in size from 2000 square feet to over 5000 square feet. Most Island Lake properties range from 1/2 acre to over 2 acres. Some of them have over 200' of lake frontage.

Sodon Lake: Sodon Lakefront homes. The lakefront homes look large and set up on a hillside above the pond. The homes were built between 1955 and the 1960's. The homes range from 2000 square feet to over 5000 square feet. Sodon Lake home styles are:contemporary,colonial,ranches. Sodon Lake properties have 120' to 200' of lake frontage. The properties range from 1 to 2 acres.

Square Lake: One side of the lake has apartments on it. Square Lake levels sometimes goes down due to the dry summers, which leads me to believe they do not have a well to replenish the lake. So they must rely on the natural springs in the lake to keep the lake level up. Since Square Lake is only 63 acres and round I wouldn't say that it is an ideal lake for boaters that avid water skiers or wake-boarders. But the lake is good for tubing, recreational skiing, and jet-skiing. The boat traffic is going to be light due to the lower number of homes on the lake (wider lake lots) and no public access. So that is a plus for home buyers. Even though the community is Bloomfield Township the school system for the lake is Pontiac Schools. If you had school age children they would probably be going to private schools.
