Otter Lake real estate Waterford Michigan.  Hi this is Russ Ravary SE Michigan's top lakefront realtor.  Let's talk about Otter Lake in Waterford.  Otter Lake connects to Sylvan Lake.  There is a big marsh with cattails that really separates the two lakes. 

Otter Lake in Waterford is a public all sports lake that is about 81 acres in size, but when you combine it with Sylvan Lake it is about 540 acres.  It does have a deep spot of about 50 feet.  Some of the lakefront homes on the lake have the cattails or marsh area in front of them.  I always recommend to go see the lake side before you go into an Otter Lakefront home if you are looking for a clean or sandy lakefront home.

The lake homes range in age from the 1920's up to the present day.  Like most Oakland County lakes you will find a mixture of sizes of homes.  There are some small 1200 square foot ranches up to a 3500 sq ft colonial.  Though most of the homes are under 2500 sq ft.  There is one 6500 sq foot colonial on the lake too.  The lakefront lots for the homes range from 40 ft to about 85 foot in most cases.

The children on the lake go to Waterford Schools.  The waterfront homes on Otter Lake in Oakland County are on city water and sewer.  There is a ski course on the south side of Otter Lake.
