Bennett Lake Fenton MI Information

Bennett Lake is part of a three chain of lakes, located just south of Lobdell Lake. The two lakes near Fenton are attached by a channel that runs under Bennett Lake Rd.  From Bennett Lake you can get to Hoisington Lake too via a channel.   Buying a house on a chain of lakes is an added bonus because you have so much more to explore and see when you have multiple lakes.  What is even nicer about the Lobdell chain of lakes is there is a  bar/ restaurant on the channel between Lobdell Lake and Bennett Lake.  Plus there is a party store on Lobdell Lake that you can pick up all your necessities and hot food too. That is so nice when you are on the boat and do not want to go home and cook. 

 The lake is named after William Bennett, who settled, along with his family, along the west shore of North Ore Creek. 

 There are two islands on Bennett Lake.   There is no public access on the lake, but boating access (DNR launch site) is available through Lobdell Lake to the north.  It adds about 30 boats to the three lakes which is not bad.  The east end of the lake is very natural with wetlands.  There are some very beautiful larger homes on some of the canals through the wetlands. 

Bennett Lake is extremely popular for recreational use and maintains a very good reputation for largemouth bass,
northern pike, bluegill, black crappie, and pumpkinseed sunfish. Numerous largemouth bass angling
tournaments occur annually and often combine catches from both Lobdell and Bennett lakes.  Bottom composition  of the lake varies from sand, marl, organic peat and gravel. There's a marsh on the east end of the lake, and a small channel to Hoisington Lake.

Bennett Lake Location

Bennett Lake lies east of Argentine Rd, South of Bennett Lake Road, and west of US-23.  The lake lies in both Livingston County and Genessee County in Michigan.  Just a small part of a channel lies in Genessee County.  Basically the whole lake lies in Livingston County.  It also lies in multiple communities, Deerfield Township, Tyrone Township, Fenton, and Linden.  It is located just south of Lobdell Lake
