Drive time is another important factor to some SE Michigan lakefront home buyers.  How long will it take them to get to work?  For example that lake home for sale on Big Lake in Davisburg may be just a little too far for a buyer if they work in Detroit.  You have to take into consideration that some of the roads in the lake area are just two lane roads because they wind around the lakes.  The roads probably will never be widen because of the cost and the layout of  the lakes.  I always tell my clients that they should do a dry run back and forth to work.  This will help determine whether the lake is close enough.  Though I have had clients that lived on Cedar Island Lake and drove to Dearborn.  I have even had a client driving downriver.  Over an hour a day, but to them the drive was worth it.  The key is to know how long your drive might be.  I don't want to have to sell your lake home in a few years because the drive is too much.  Call or text me to help find your dream lake home.
