Let's talk about old furniture. My story about this is a bigger lake house was very nice. It was painted, had nice flooring, but ALL the furniture looked liked it came from a dorm room or salvation army. It was scratched, beat up. It made this $700,000 house look bad. The problem was all of the furniture was like that. So what do you do if some of your furniture is beat up or really dated?
If you can store the piece in the garage, basement, or storage locker. If you need it camoflage it. What I mean by that is you can put a blanket or throw over the back of the flowered couch. Buy a cover is another option Major scratches on tops of furniture cover strategically with a table runner, dishes, a book. Etc. Old furniture can lower your home sales price but by good staging we can usually over come it.
