Homes on Long Lake in Commerce MIDrive time is another important factor to some SE Michigan lakefront home buyers.  How long will it take them to get to work?  For example that lake home for sale on Long Lake Commerce Mi may be just a little too far for a buyer if they work in Detroit.  You have to take into consideration that some of the roads in the lake area are just two lane roads because they wind around the lakes.  The roads probably will never be widen because of the cost and the layout of  the lakes.  I always tell my clients that they should do a dry run back and forth to work.  This will help determine whether the lake is close enough.  Though I have had clients that lived on Cedar Island Lake and drove to Dearborn.  I have even had a client driving downriver.  Over an hour a day, but to them the drive was worth it.  The key is to know how long your drive might be.  I don't want to have to sell your lake home in a few years because the drive is too much.  Call or text me to help find your dream lake home.   

Long Lake in Commerce Township MI is only about 10 minutes from M-5 which is the gateway to all the expressways.  You are about 20 minutes to 12 Oaks Mall in Novi.   The children on the lake go to Walled Lake schools.  It is not a huge lake but it is big enough to ski, tube, and jet-ski on comfortably.

Lakefront home selling tips

If you are selling a Long Lake waterfront home here is a quick home selling tip.

Light and view of the lake is a mjor selling point of your home.  Maximize the views of the lake.  I myself hate washing windows, but when selling your lake home make those windows shine.  Hire a professional if necessary.  It will be worth the money.  Next take out all the screens if you use air conditioning.  Store them in the garage.  Your view will be better without the screens in the windows.  Open all the drapes and shades on any lakeview window.  Trim up any bushes or low hanging tree limbs that block the view of the lake.
