Loon Lake does have a private marina on the lake Loon Lake Boat Club
I like Loon Lake because on the west side the homes are more of a subdivision type feel. The lake front homes sit on relatively deep lots. They are a little different than some of Oakland County Lake homes where the home is tight to the street and there is little parking. I think you know what I mean. It is like there was a road and a lake there and then they squeezed a home right in the middle. Well it's not like that on the west side of Loon Lake in Waterford. It's like a normal subdivision street with mature trees and an added bonus of an all sports lake.
There are quite a few lake front homes that range from 2000 to over 4000 square feet. Many of these homes were built after the 1980's. The real estate on the lake varies from a nice condo complex that does have docking priviliges for the people that live on the lake to nice ranch and split level homes. There are a few bungalows on the lake too.
I have to warn you there are some Loon Lake waterfront properties that are Pontiac schools. The Southeastern tip of Loon Lake is still Waterford Township but falls into Pontiac School System.
Some of the homes over there on the Southeastern part of the lake are small and are on Dixie Hwy. But there are some large ones too.
The majority of Loon Lakefront home styles are:
So many of the good lake homes get sold before the average buyer even gets to see them. I have seen homes sell in under a week. The good lake homes go quick. If you want the latest lake home listings emailed to you daily so you can look at them at your leisure.

Information about the lake from a neighbor that wrote me
1st, Loon Lake which is connected to Schoolhouse, connects to Silver Lake. This is only manageable by small vessels. Also, in a small vessel, from Loon lake you can go under Dixie highway toward the Waterford Historical Log cabin park and to the fish hatchery.
2nd. There is a house on Schoolhouse Lake that was built in the 20's, mine. 2975 West Walton was built by my Great grandfather in 1929. 3001West Walton was built by him in 1926. It was the first home on the lake. We have over 350ft of lake frontage.
Hope you do well, Waterford is a beautiful location to live.
On the North side of the lake there is a park, tennis courts, a playground on the water. There are 3 sets of Condos/Apartments on the South side of the lake. But the condo and apartment residents have limited access to dock a boat and to put a boat in.

You have not cared about how beautiful or updated your lake cottage or lake home was. You may have been too busy on the lake. Sometimes lake homes are not completely updated. You may have been too busy enjoying the lake. So many lake home owners are just happy living on the lake. This lake home may be a second home to you. You may not have had the money to keep it pristine. It may not have mattered to you. A sunny day on the lake may have been better than painting the home.
However you have decided to sell now. Unless your lake home has so many negative factors it may pay to do some painting and re-carpeting. I will tell you about a waterfront home I saw in Highland Township a few years back. It was one of the newer homes that was built in the last 15 years on the lake. The home owner never did the normal maintenance.
It was big beautiful home with lots of great features, but the maintenance of the lake home was lacking. There were nail pops, some minor dry wall repair, and the house needed a paint job bad. The house sat on the market for 8 months. I showed the house several times but the feedback I got from my clients was....the house was built poorly or the house was overpriced for the condition it was in. The house never sold when it was in that condition. Well the owner finally painted the home and fixed the drywall issues. The house sold in less than a week after it was painted.
So sometimes a fresh paint job and new carpet will do wonders for your lake home. If you are thinking of selling your lake home give me a call. We use the latest technology tools to get your home sold. So give us a call on my cell at (248) 310-6239.
