Lotus Lake real estate Oakland County
Is the water calming to you? If you are like me there is something magical about water! I don’t know if it reminds me of great vacations, or good times with family from years gone by. There is just something about water that I love. Nothing like seeing the sun shine on the water. If you have feelings like I do I would say you are a water person. You dream of living on a lake is very possible and attainable. Southeastern Michigan lakes still have many affordable homes that have reasonable drives into Metro Detroit. Would you like to come home at the end of a crazy, hard day to get on the pontoon and have a relaxing ride with your partner with a cold drink in your hand? That is so possible. Here is a brief summary of the lakefront real estate. There are many different styles (types), sizes of homes on the lake. Do you just want a simple 1000 square foot cottage on a small lot? Or do you want a newer 4000 square foot year round home with more lake frontage?
Well Lotus Lake has both for you and everything in between. There is a 747 square foot ranch that was built in 1920 and there are 4500 square foot colonials that were built in the 1990's and 2000. There is one island on the lake, Blain Island. There is plenty of room for any boating sport you want to do. Lotus Lake (combined with Maceday) is wide enough and deep enough to sail on. There is plenty of shoreline and lake homes to look at if you are a pontoon person.

One of the unexpected bonuses of having a lake home is the nature and the wildlife that calls the lake home. Some of our Michigan lakes are right in the migration path of many of the ducks and geese. I sold a home on Independence Lake that had so many different ducks on it. It was absolutely amazing to see the whole flock take off at one time. It reminded me of my childhood when my grandparents to me to Jack Miner's bird sanctuary in Canada.
Our local lakes have mallards, wood ducks, geese, and swans that are around most of the time. Some people think the geese and swans can be a nuisance. But there is something majestic about a swan swimming by. Or funny when they have their butts in the air. I know the sound thump, thump, thump of a swan taking flight. It starts out awkward and then becomes a thing of beauty.
Rainbows over the lake, the moon glistening off the water are just two of the sights I love. The sight of two swans squaring off over territory. All these little things about life in nature. It is wonderful!
If you move off the lake you will miss the sounds of the geese in the early morning. The sights of the baby ducks all in a row each spring dutifully following their mother. (One time we saw a duck that had 18 little ducks swimming behind it) That is some of the special highlights of living on the lake.

Here is what a previous client had to say about me!
"I first started looking at real estate listings online nearly a year ago, but at first I thought I´d never really buy one. I hadn´t been paying attention and thought I still couldn´t afford to buy a place. I also had no experience in buying a home and I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing before I bought. For most questions I would search online, the topic had been discussed on Russ´ blog. Not only that, he was local. Over the summer, I finally decided to start physically looking at houses and Russ was the only choice.
My preferred method of contact was email and he always responded in a timely fashion. He was patient with this first-time home buyer, and worked with me through my initial bid process. I was surprised when they accepted the bid! The transaction went smoothly, with Russ patiently answering any questions and concerns I had. From the first time we looked at houses to the closing was exactly one month. I´ve been here five months now and people still marvel at what I got for the price I paid. When I requested a plumber, he was able to provide one was lived close by and was economical."
Thanks for everything, Russ.
