Oakland County Lakefront Condos!

So you are debating on buying a house or a condo on an Oakland County Lake.   There are many lakes that do not have condos on them like Lake Angelus in Oakland County, White Lake in White Lake Township, and Zukey Lake in Hamburg to name a few.

I have put together a list of all the lakes in Oakland County that do have condos on them.  The key is why are you buying a condo?  Is it because you will not have any outdoor maintenance again?  That is the number one reason people buy condos.

 Here is a list of factors you need to know about buying a condo on a lake.

1.)  Where is the condo located?  Not only do you have to worry about whether you have a lake view, but you also have to know where the condo complex is located.  Some lake condos in Oakland County are across the road from the lake.  The condo complex may have property on the other side of the road on the lake, but the actual condo units may be across the road.

2.)  Not all condos have boat access.  Most condo complexes are limited to the number of boat slips they have.  Before you buy you need to know how many boat slips are allotted to the complex, whether the boat slip is deeded to the actual condo, and how long is the wait to get a dock for your boat.  DO NOT JUST ASSUME THAT YOU HAVE A DOCK FOR YOUR BOAT.

3.)  Is there an area to swim, or common area to be on by the lake?  Can you use that common area if you have a party, or have friends over?  Can you put up a tent?

So if you are buying a condo on a lake in Oakland County it's normal to have friends and family over on the lake.  How is the parking at the condo?  Is there plenty of room for visitors?
