Silver Lake has a lake association through Waterford Lake Estates. There is no access to Loon Lake from Silver Lake by boat, nor can you get to Little Silver Lake by motorboat.

Silver Lake water front homes vary from one side of the lake to the other.  One side of Silver Lake has many good sized homes from 2000-4000 square feet that were built in the 1990's and early 2000's.  Those lake front properties have lake frontage of 90 to 100 feet.

One the other side of the lake I would say the homes are like most of Oakland County lakefront properties.  A mixture of big and small homes on lots as small as 40 up to over a 100'.  Some of Clark Lake homes do sit right on the busy W. Walton Blvd.

Also some of the kids would go to Pontiac schools, the others would go to Waterford schools.  So when you buy a lakefront home as what the school district is.  It could become a big factor when your children go to school or when you go to sell.  Pontiac school homes will be less expensive because of the school scores.

Many people are surprised to find out that there are specific age limits on who can drive a jet ski.  Here are rules for jet skis and personal watercraft in Michigan

Those less than 14 years of age may not legally operate a PWC.

Those 14 and 15 years of age may operate a PWC legally only if they have obtained a boating safety certificate and …

• He or she is accompanied on board by his or her parent or legal guardian or by a person at least 21 years of age who has been designated by the parent or legal guardian or …
• He or she is operating or riding the PWC at a distance of not more than 100 feet from his or her parent or legal guardian or from a person at least 21 years of age who has been designated by the parent or legal guardian.

Those at least 16 years of age and born after December 31, 1978, may operate a PWC legally only if they have obtained a boating safety certificate.

Those born on or before December 31, 1978, may operate a PWC legally without restrictions.

You must have your certificate with you when you are driving a jet ski otherwise you could get a ticket.

Information about the lake from a neighbor that wrote me

1st, Loon Lake which is connected to Schoolhouse, connects to Silver Lake. This is only manageable by small vessels. Also, in a small vessel, from Loon lake you can go under Dixie highway toward the Waterford Historical Log cabin park and to the fish hatchery.
2nd. There is a house on Schoolhouse Lake that was built in the 20's, mine. 2975 West Walton was built by my Great grandfather in 1929. 3001West Walton was built by him in 1926. It was the first home on the lake. We have over 350ft of lake frontage.
