Lake Shannon is fed by Ore Creek with a dams at either end of the lake. On the south end of the lake, the creek widens but not enough for skiing. There is no access from Lake Shannon to other lakes by boat.
Lake Shannon is a long narrow lake that is in two townships. The lake is in Tyrone Township and Deerfield Township in Livingston County Michigan. So it depends on where you live on the lake where your child goes to school. If you live in Deerfield Township your child would go to Hartland schools and if you live on the lake in Tyrone Township your child would go to Linden schools.
The lake is wider at the northern part of the lake and gets narrow as you go south.

Some of Lake Shannon's real estate is heavily wooded. I have been in one house that was like you were up north the home was so secluded with trees. It was beautiful over looking the lake because the home sat up on a hill. There are some waterfront properties that do sit higher above the lake and there are stairs needed to go down to the water's edge
