The lake connects to both Greens Lake and Van Norman Lake. You can get to Greens Lake through Van Norman Lake. The children on the lake go to Waterford School system.
Even though it is only 12 acres it is an all sports lake and you can get to Van Norman which is all sports. Of course on a 12 acre lake you really can't ski or tube.
Lester Lake is what I would call a very wide part of the Clinton River.

Lester Lake real estate Oakland County
Lester Lakefront homes for sale. There are about 2 Lester Lake homes that sit directly on the lakefront. The other homes have lake access and sit across from the road around the lake. The homes across the road sit above the lake and have stairs that lead to the lakefront. A mixture of home styles are on the lake including 700 sqft cottage ranches. There are also condos that are on the other side of the lake from the homes.
Lester Lake has really only three home styles. They are bungalows, split levels, and ranches. There really aren't that many homes on the lake, I would guess about 15 homes. Some of them are 1928 -1940 ranchs some without basements and garages that range in square footage from 750 square feet to about 1200 square feet.
There are no giant waterfront homes on the lake. I think the biggest one is about 2000 square feet. There was one home built in 2003.
Lester Lakefront properties are mainly 50' -75' in size. Though there are a couple over 100'. Like I said above there are only two homes that sit on the lake. The other sit across a small paved road. They sit above the lake.
The last home that sold in the last three years (from 10/2011) was a 1200 square foot 3 bedroom, 1 bath ranch, 1928 built with no garage on a 50' lot that sold for $64,900. (11/11/2009).
As you can see from the picture below the condos do have boat docks. I don't know for sure if all of them have docks or not.

But the Lester Lake waterfront condos were built in the early 1970's and are 2 bedroom, 1 -2 bathrooms, about 1200 square feet, and have a one car garage. In the same time period as above only 2 waterfront condos have sold. They sold for $88,000 and $93,000.

Lester Lake Location
Lester Lake is located in Waterford Township Oakland County MI. It is south of Andersonville Rd and west of Dixie Hwy, also to the north of Lotus Lake.
Our recommendation to you is to get a survey when you buy a lake home. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO SO. Russ has a home on White Lake and have seen a few battles between home owners over the lot lines. Twice we have seen where the owners were completely surprised that they did not own the land they were fighting over. If you have a staked survey you will not have any surprise.
If you are buying a waterfront property look up the property lines at the county or the community the home is in. We have seen lakefront homes sold that were not really Lake Front. They had a subdivision or community access in front of them. We have seen lot lines that angle. Where the owners thought they owned a perfect rectangle instead it was an rectangle at an angle.
So many home owners and lake home owners assume they know the lot lines. But many of them do not. It is important to get a staked survey so there are not property disputes with neighbors. On White Lake in White Lake Township there was a home sold years ago as a lakefront home. It became a law suit when the owners found out that the neighbors actually owned the lakefront in front of their home. They ended up letting the home go back to the bank.
We have seen several lake homes listed this year that were not actually Lake Front. They had a lake view but they did not actually own to the lake. It is up to you the buyer to do the research to make sure of that.
