Tull Lake, White Lake Twp, Michigan is a private all-sports lake that is relatively small (about 90 acres). If you are looking for a quiet lake this may the lake for you. It does not allow jet skis on the lake and there is limits on size of motors and size of boats on the lake.
Tull Lake is a round shaped lake with quite a few different small bays. It also has 3 small islands on the lake. Two of them are on the main lake and one is in one of the bays. The lake bottom is sandy in most areas so the lakefront properties on Tull Lake are great for home buyers that are looking for lakefront properties that you can walk out and swim from. So many of Southeastern Michigan lakes are mucky so this lake is great for swimming in front of your home.


Tull Lake is not a very busy lake. If you are a saloom skier it may be a lake for you to look at. If there are four boats on the lake, that's a busy time. Most of the time you will see one or two boats out there.
The majority of the boats on the lake are pontoons, though there are some skiers and wakeboarders out there. Tull Lake is relatively shallow with the deepest spot about 10 - 12' deep.
Tull Lake is an ideal kayaking lake too! There are lots of little coves and islands to go around. And not too much boat traffic to creat big waves.
The lake is a man made lake and was developed in the late 1950's. Tull Lakefront homes are typical for 1960's and 1970's homes.

Tull Lakefront homes for sale in Twin Lakes subdivision. One area of homes are newer and larger colonials. The other side of the homes are smaller and consists mainly of ranchs, tri-levels, and quad levels. Tull Lake home styles are:

Most of the lakefront homes on the lake are split levels or ranches. Though in the late 90's they dredged out a swampy area and made a new bay. On the new bay they built bigger colonials that range from 3000 square foot to 5000 square foot. The majority of the are on the bay though there are a few on the main lake.

The rest of the lake are the smaller ranchs, tri-levels, quad-levels that were built in the 1960's and 1970's. Some of them have been updated with newer granite kitchens and updated baths. The ranch lakefront homes range in size from 1300 square foot to 3600 square foot with the majority of them less than 2000 square foot. The split level lakefront homes range in the same size.
Like most Oakland County MI Lakes there are not a lot of wide open spaces or privacy. As of 2011 there are only a couple of vacant lakefront properties. Tull Lake front properties do have a little more space than many other lake front properties in Oakland County Michigan. Some of the lots have about 100' frontage. Which is a little different where sometimes Oakland County lake lots are 40' wide.

There is plenty of lake access homes near Tull Lake. Twin Beach subdivision has lake access to the park. Children living on Tull Lake attend Waterford Schools.

The Metro Detroit area has many lakes and many different home styles to fit any potential lake buyers that are moving to White Lake Township or moving to the metro Detroit areas. There are small electric motor lakes, no motor lakes, and lots of all sports lakes in Oakland County. So feel free to call me any time to talk about what you want in a lake.
Most Metro Detroit area lakes have almost every style and variety of lake homes. Remember that the expansion of Metro Detroit started in the early 1900's. Detroiters started coming out to Oakland and Livingston County lakes in the 1920's. There were little one - three bedroom cottages ranging from 500 to 1000 square feet. Detroiter's came out there to get away from the city life. The majority of the lake homes were just cottages during this period.
The affluent Detroiter built some bigger estate homes. Back then an estate size home may have been 2000 square feet or more. There are still a few of them standing on different lakes.
Even in 2014 you will still see many of the little lake cottages still standing. Some have been remodeled, some need to be torn down. Some of them have been added onto. They have gone up. Some have had several additions. Porches were enclosed and made part of the house. Over the year’s bungalows, ranches, colonials, split levels, Tudors were built too. Before the 1970's we would say most of the homes that were built ranged from a 1000 -2000 square feet most of the time.
We are speaking in generalities. Of course there are some that were bigger in those periods, but that is what the majority of the home sizes are. That is what the lake home styles are like in metro Detroit. Most lakes have a wide variety of lake home styles.
