So what are Mead Lake properties and homes like? Most of the homes on the lake were built after the 1950's. So they are more modern lakefront homes. We would guess that most of them were built in the 1970's and 1980's.
Some of the Mead Lake properties in White Lake MI have some acrea. Some over 5 acres. The lake is not that large (only 11 acres) so there are not that many homes. We believe there are only about 10 homes on the lake.
There have been no homes sold between January & November 2012 on the lake.

Mead Lake White Lake Twp information
The lake is right next to Cranberry Lake. There is only a road separating the two lakes. Mead Lake flows into Cranberry Lake via a culvert under the road.
You drive off M-59 down the road through the tree to get back to this secluded lake.
It is a row boat lake. When we were on the lake a few years back a swan had built it's nest very close to the road. It was the first time I ever saw a swan nest up close.

The school district for Mead Lake is Huron Valley Schools.
It does not matter whether you live on a lake or in the city you will have some good and some bad neighbors. Most lake home owners get along so well. Where the problem usually arises is about lot lines. So one of the biggest recommendations is to get a staked survey of your property. It is worthwhile and will help keep property line disputes down. We have heard too many stories of home owners using and thinking they owned to a certain point of land when they never actually owned it.
Lake courtesy is simple things like not blocking your neighbors view. You do not want to put trees or shrubs in to block your neighbors view. It is the same thing with a privacy fence to the lake. You are going to start a war and alienate your neighbor.
