Fishing Lakes in Oakland County MI

Whatever the reason you have for finding the top fishing lake in Oakland County let me tell you our thoughts.  The best fishing lakes are usually the lakes that do not have a lot of boating pressure.  So many times private lakes are some of the best fishing. 

Then add in non-all sports lakes.  Because there is no heavy boating pressure due to electric motors or hand powered boats a non all sports lake will be better fishing.  Lakes that have bubblers in it also helps because it provides more oxygen to the fish even in the warm summer months.  Let's go over the two good characteristics of fishing lakes....being a private lake and being a non all sports lake is a good start to finding a great fishing lake.  A public lake with a Michigan DNR boat launch will have more fishermen coming to that lake.

If it is private non all sports lake then the less homes on the lake helps.  So lakes with large lots and fewer homes will help the fishing because there are less people to fish on the lake.

Of course there are fish in all the local lakes in Oakland County whether it is big or small, all sports or non all sports, private or public.  White Lake in White Lake Township is a busy, public, all sports lake yet it has great bass fishing.  So sometimes you just have to fish the lake to learn whether it a good fishing lake.
