We don't know if it because it isn't a round lake, or that so many people have been able to use the lake over the years because it has public access. Lake Oakland has five or six bays and an island to go around. We don't know if you are like me but I get bored with a round lake. We know lots of clients that have bought on small round lakes and are very happy, but that just isn't me. Lake Oakland gives pontoon boaters little bays to cruise thru with their lake guests.
Lake Oakland is connected via canal to Woodhull Lake. There is a public access at the end of Dill Rd at the south end of the lake off of W Walton.Lake Oakland usually has a golf outing, a water ski show, a euchre tournament, and July 4 fireworks show. es

So we started going out and visiting the lakes when we had free time. We sat and talked to the local lake residents when we had time. We have taken all these pictures. We have over a hundred pictures of some of the lakes. We took pictures of the homes on the lake one year after my wife died. We did not feel like working, but We needed something to do. So we drove around to all the local lakes in the area, gathered information, and took pictures. It kept Russ busy after his wife’s death from breast cancer. At the same time we gained so much knowledge about our local lakes.
During the late fall and early winter during our slow time we put this website together. We keep updating it as we get better information. In fact if you know something about a lake send us an email. We will add it to the website. Or if you have a great picture to sharewe will be glad to post it.

What type of lake home do you want? Do you you want a 8000 square foot ranch, or a 4800 tudor style home, or a 2500 square foot colonial, or a 800 square foot bungalow. This lake has them all!. Lake Oakland has just about any home style or any home size that you want.
Lake Oakland Lakefront properties range from about 50 foot in lake frontage up to about 120 feet. There are not big lots with acreage on the lake. Most of the lake lots are level with the lake, though there are some house that sit above the lake and you have to have stairs to get down to the lake. So if you don't want stairs there are Lake Oakland properties that are flat. There are still a few vacant lake lots available.
There are even homes on the island! Depending on where you live on the lake will determine whether your kids go to Waterford or Clarkston schools.
So yes Lake Oakland home styles can be bungalows, cape cods, contemporary, tudor, colonial, split levels, or ranches.
